How it All Began...

Several years ago, due to overwhelming gentrification in our neighborhoods, Rabbi Yoni Katz launched a campaign in Williamsburg, Brooklyn entitled "Unite The Beards." It was designed to unify the various demographics that were rapidly changing the face of Brooklyn. As a local, he figured, “Why not try to welcome our new neighbors and grow beyond our differences?”

This campaign really allowed Rabbi Yoni to get to know some fellow Brooklynites and, before long, he started offering local walking tours of his Crown Heights neighborhood. This led directly to the birth of JewishBrooklyn.nyc which now offers visitors from all over the world an inside look at the people of the book. Crown Heights is a neighborhood rich with history and Jewish tradition and, as people are discovering, it's the one neighborhood in NYC you just can't miss. The tour is comprehensive; it does not cut any corners. The tour guides look forward to welcoming you and, as you can see in our JewishBrooklyn.nyc logo, we are only a short subway ride on the 2 or 3 train from Midtown Manhattan.
